Jenny Kanerva

During my diplomatic career I have served in different roles in Finland, Lithuania, Uganda and Sweden. My tasks have been challenging and versatile both in terms of content and responsibilities. In my various roles I have done the following:

• As a leader, I have led various teams, networks and projects. During several years I served as Deputy Head of Mission, being in charge of the comprehensive management of the Embassy in the absence of the Head of Mission. I also served as member of Management teams for over 10 years;
• As an expert, I have analyzed and reported on the political and economic development of the host countries, acquired and exchanged information, and prepared various high-level visits and events;
• As head of promotion and communications, I have served businesses, planned and implemented communication and nation-branding work, built and managed networks, planned and organized events, represented my organization in different occasions, written and given speeches and conducted training sessions;
• As head of administration, I have been responsible for various planning processes, organizational development and implemented new ways of working. I was also responsible for budgeting, recruitment and personnel management and real estate and security issues.

My tasks with a Nordic online publication included content production, image processing, translations between Finnish and Swedish and customer service in Finnish.

I worked at the headquarters of NATO KFOR Task Force Centre. My duties included administrative tasks, reporting and working as a watchkeeper at the situation centre of the operation. Before leaving for field work I went through a short military service.
