  • Achievements : Established operational standards: Developed guidelines for the remote management of humanitarian operations in the Middle East, now considered as organisational best practice (NRC). Led a major funding initiative: Played a key role in crafting the proposal for a €70 million NGO grant facility for the MENA region, funded by KfW, which secured the fund manager role for NRC, and contributed to establishing this facility (NRC). Enhanced emergency response capabilities: Redesigned a protection consortium into a fully operational emergency response facility for Lebanon, securing €3 million in funding from DG-ECHO (ACF).   • Role: Spearheaded a partnership between DG ECHO, 10 EU Member States, and 5 NGOs to safeguard Palestinians from forcible transfer through a multi-sectoral humanitarian response underpinned by principled diplomatic efforts. In this role, I coordinated the work of the Board, Steering Committee, Secretariat, and implementing partners, while acting as the primary representative in engagements with external stakeholders.
  • Accomplishments: Established the Consortium as a key pillar of the humanitarian architecture in the West Bank. Secured 5 new donors, raising €27 million in contributions. Advanced the Consortium's integrated protection approach, recognised as a benchmark for protection-centred programming. Leveraged third-state responsibility to initiate numerous measures safeguarding vulnerable populations and preserving humanitarian space.

Oversaw preparations for the facility’s Board meetings and governance reviews.
  • Achievements: Played a key role in formulating the Bank’s engagement strategy for the social development sector, translating it into a comprehensive five-year operational pipeline. Contributed to the approval of a three-year extension request and a proposal to transition the Bank-administered facility into a national institution. Supported the development of a project appraisal document for a US$650 million loan, which was approved by the Bank’s Board of Directors.


Team Leader - Conflict Programme (Oct 2009-Jan 2011)

  • Role: Managed the Conflict Team, overseeing 26 staff and consultants, as well as a multi-donor trust fund totalling US$7 million.
  • Achievements: Conducted a comprehensive assessment of Indonesia's transition progress, resulting in a strategic shift in the Bank's operational and analytical focus. Redirected efforts from post-conflict recovery in Aceh to nationwide conflict prevention. Spearheaded the launch of Indonesia's National Violence Monitoring System and provided technical assistance for the development of a National Strategy for Conflict Prevention in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning. Contributed to global research and practice through two series of publications and case studies for the 2011 World Development Report.
